An intro week in Copenhagen

It‘s already almost a week, I‘m in Copenhagen. It‘s still nice and the more I‘m here, the more I like it. Not sure what it makes feeling like that – but I would go for category `people`. Two ones, who are hosting me are unbelievable – I am more than thankful for keeping me there and not complaining for the third person in a place. Well, I‘m trying to act nicely [You know I can, if I really try, sometimes to be nice]. But it‘s easy here – we always find topics to talk, discuss, share thoughts, laugh till the very late hours of the night or just go and have fun in the city.
So here I am, finally looks like I‘ve got a place to live in. It‘s not so big, it‘s only one room for me in the appartment, but I‘m gonna have my doors that closes and it will be really close to the city center – I couldn‘t expect anything more, I suppose. Although I am moving in there only after my little trip for wedding [no, not my wedding], it still makes me happy, that I‘ve got it. But the more I stay here, I realise, that it is going to be a bit sad leave this place and these people – for now I am having a lot of fun staying with them. But of course, I do know that guests are like fishes – they start stink after three days – I hope I won‘t stink that much. We‘ll see.
My university is big, modern and, I would say – fascinating. You can see it on-line: http://www.cbs.dk. I like it already, though I do realise that it is going to be difficult to study in here – they are expecting us to be very smart [well, probably most or all in my class are very smart, but I do not trust my `smartness` that much] so they are going to give us a lot of study work and a lot of things to learn. But ye, I came for that, not for anything else. This is something like a given opportunity – I have actually use it in most efficient way.
So I‘ve got this fancy and new program to study [first year for this program – so we are the first ones to study it] and 17 more students from different countries. We have Danes, Norwegians, Russians, Romanians, Lithuanians [yes, I’m not the only one], Icelanders, Italians [I may have forgot one or two countries, but that is mainly it]. And we already met some teachers, who actually are fascinating with their knowledge and passion for the field they are teaching. So I am pretty sure it is going to be interesting here.
We had two `intro days` already last week, and I am becoming a real student on Monday already – that’s something new for me after two years of gap and working with no studies. Our heads are now full of different information about researches, what is where and where to go if you need some kind of answer. But we also had fun as well. We had a nice picnic [is that the word?] on Thursday evening in a big big and nice park close to school followed by a small but nice pub for a beer or so. Friday was an easy night to go, but we still managed to go out and have some fun.
Also, this week, at least for me, not sure about the rest, was more or less – let’s try to visit public offices to get necessary documentation. As it is not surprising anyone [especially not me], I was not very lucky with those. I had a map and an address when I started going to the first shown place. I found the place, but unfortunately that place had already left a.k.a. moved to another building. Shame that the address, it moved, was not on my map. So I tried to reach another place and I was not lucky again – it just was not there at all.
So next day I did not trust any advices from around and did a little research `where to go and what to do` by myself. I’ve got different addresses and this time I was a little bit luckier. I found the place where I could get a residence permit [be aware, that if You come to Denmark for a longer time You will going to need it as well and this is actually the first thing You have to get]. So I filled in all of the forms and now I am in a `waiting` process, so I could move on and continue my fun trips to public offices. So if any of You actually decides coming to Denmark for living [studying or any other crazy idea], do ask me where to go and what to do – at least so far for the public offices, I think I know it all.
Night life is alive in Copenhagen – that is for sure. First night [ok, it was a late afternoon] I was having my favorite beer in `The Dubliner` - my future working place [at least for a couple of shifts]. Couple times I have visited `Black Swan` - which is a very cozy place to stay and chat. The reason I was going there, it is because I have a friend working there – but I really liked the place. One night we were listening to some jazz [well I am not an expert, but I think that is wasn’t 100% jazz, but.. oh well, maybe],other night we were just having some fun.
I know it makes me a bit of a freak, but when I first time visited Copenhagen, I fell in love.. with a bar – so cozy and so nice place, that I just couldn’t resist. The strange thing is, that it is absolutely nothing special – just a small bar, with some game machines in it, but it is so attractive, that I cannot even explain. It is called `John Bull` and You should definitely visit it, if You ever come to Copenhagen [no, they do not pay me for advertise it, but yeah, I really love it]. So for this reason Friday night was a great night, because I actually went there, finally, for the first time I am in Copenhagen right now. We started with chatting in `Black Swan` with a friend of my and guys from my class. After a while, we went to see the `mermaid`. I have to tell You [You might get disappointed] that she is not even a mermaid. She is just a little [very very little!!!] girl with legs. I told the same thing for Roman, but since he still wanted to see her – we went there, hoping that small thing is going to be at least covered in lights. As I predicted, he’s got disappointed with the size of `mermaid` and legs, instead of fishtail, but at least we made a picture, so it can be crossed out of `to do` list.
We were walking around for some more than finally I convinced people to go to John Bull – and it was great just sitting there, talking and laughing with The Hoegaarden beer [the best one I have ever drank – frankly]. So far John Bull is the only place I’ve seen, where they have those special glasses for Hoegaarden to drink from, which makes the beer even more special.
So that is my `intro week in Copenhagen`. So far so good, just everything new and a bit inexperienced. No pictures so far, but I do promise to make some in a near future [in case You are interested in those].

Mano pirmoji diena – niekuo beveik neypatinga.
Reik manyt, bus ir man labiau tinkančių, kitaip vadinamų – neįtikėtinų nuotykių.
